I know you work with hyperbole and sarcasm the way Michelangelo worked with marble and paint, but the Cruzes might have been at a high end place celebrating something  :shrug:  My bar tab was $100+ for my birthday  :cool:

Don't fool yourself. This is how a politician lives. I've seen it first hand. They all live larger than they deserve to. 99% of the time they are expensing this shit out onto the taxpayer. When they are not actually in these overpriced places, they are having this shit shuttled up to their offices.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
@Frank Cannon

Oh, Lord, I had snail once, and that was too much.

I hate this pretentious crap....drizzle something on two chunks and call it dinner.  No, thanks.

On that score we agree. Not enough there to build a respectable turd, and way overpriced.

I'd rather eat at truck stop cafes.

Well, if this  restaurant loses  business, its misfortune is self-inflicted.  Regardless of management's own political views. it should provide a safe environment for its customers.  The restaurant should have called the police.  Since whoever was in charge made no effort to have the terrorists removed, the owners should not be surprised if potential customers decide the restaurant is too dangerous and decide to go elsewhere.

This is another case where I really don't like Yelp mobs. It was not employees at the restaurant who did this nor was it sanctioned by the restaurant. When this happ need, the protestors were removed and the Senator returned and finished his meal.

It was not the restaurant's fault and they handled it in a manner any business probably should have- but they are the ones getting their reputation vandalized online.

It didn't specify if they did or didn't call the police but many articles say the protestors were removed immediately.

I read somewhere that it was an employee who notified the mobs.  But, I haven't seen that repeated anywhere else.

A restaurant that cannot control their scene should be run out of business.

LOL. Right. This part is rich.....

Per our policy for events of this nature, the police were called and the guest escorted to privacy–our highest priority is always the well-being of our customers.

Looks like they were escorted out to a public street from the vid.

Since I posted, the owner's statement was released.  Apparently, the terrorists were removed and the Cruzes did come back to finish their meal in peace.  So yes you are right and I retract my attack on the restaurant.

Incidentally, I agree that Yelp is a poor source of trustworthy reviews.  Seems they don't bother to find out if a review is legit or if it's just some crank with axe to grind.  I did, however, look at Trip Advisor's reviews for this restaurant.  The most recent ones trash the restaurant over the incident, but Trip Advisor does a better job of removing phony crank reviews.  I expect those reviews will be gone shortly.
