President Trump should still order the FBI to probe Christine Blasey Ford's sexual misconduct accusation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, despite the professor agreeing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee, according to top Senate Democrats.
"There is no legitimate basis for you to continue blocking the FBI from investigating this important matter," Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Dianne Feinstein wrote Sunday in a letter to the president.
"Judge Kavanaugh is being nominated to the highest court in our land," they continued. "These serious allegations should be fairly and impartially considered before the Senate moves forward."
