Grassley gives Kavanaugh accuser Saturday afternoon deadline to confirm testimony

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser has until Saturday afternoon to decide whether or not to testify next week.

Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley has given Christine Blasey Ford five extensions to confirm whether she’ll tell her story to lawmakers and the American people.

The Iowa Republican gave Ms. Blasey Ford, a professor living in California, until 10 p.m. Friday to decide whether or not she’ll appear before the committee on Wednesday after originally scheduling the hearing for Monday. He said if he didn’t hear from her, then the committee would proceed with a vote Monday instead of continuing to plan for the hearing.


“As an additional accommodation, the committee has extended the deadline yet again to 2:30 PM ET today,” Taylor Foy, Mr. Grassley’s spokesperson, told The Washington Times.

Has been very dry here all summer to the point I said, "What does rain look like?"

Tell me about it.   I had nine of the most beautiful tomato plants I've ever managed to grow, full of blooms in the spring.  Then the rain stopped... not a drop.  Then the 95 to 100+ temps kicked in...in late May (which is early for Dallas summers).   Worst harvest I have EVER had.  Could have saved the effort, time and money.  Shoulda.

   My beautiful crepe myrtle's told me last year that they'd rather shed their leaves than drink that $hitty stuff your utility company calls water and that's just what they did. Had some good rains last week and they are all releaving (sic) quickly.

IF they ever get around to a hearing, I could see the wacko left Senators asking Kavanaugh something like this: Judge, have you ever been to a party at an unspecified home some 30 odd years ago?

@Victoria33 @XenaLee @Sanguine  I hope the needed rain treats you all well, and that flooding doesn't get too bad!  Super dry here in Burbank CA, and the drought has managed to kill of most of our 80+ year old roses ;(.  But at least we don't have army worms, I guess!  I'd never even heard of them!

The rats play dirty and couldn't care any less what WE think about it!  Republicans want to make sure that their invites to the next big Washington ball don't get "lost" in the mail!
