Its really friggen sad there aren't any red state democrat votes that can be peeled away with the election coming up in weeks.

They won't vote for him if the Stupid Party gives them cover by any of them voting "Nae."  Looks like Murkowski is holding out for a few more bridges to nowhere in the next appropriation.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16
I will NOT comply.

That one really frosts me, considering how the POS got her seat back.

She is not on the Committee.  Besides, Chinless can move it to a floor vote even if the Committee votes it down.

Oh, I thought her was. Thanks for the correction.

No, the GOP brings a plastic spoon to a gun fight.

Don't blame Grassley here.  What the hell good would it do anyone if he pushes and Kavanaugh is voted down because Collins and Murkowski vote "no"?  @IsailedawayfromFR

Someone needs to be taking these two women to the woodshed and pushing them back on the train.
Grassley does not run the Senate.  He only runs Judiciary and needs to finalize this.  That is his job.

You attribute powers to him he does not possess.

And Murkowski and Collins will always be what they are, so it makes no difference to his recommendation to proceed.

I don't blame Grassley.  In the unfortunate climate we live in now, Grassley cannot be seen as ignoring this poor abused woman or refusing to accommodate her.

On my Facebook page, this is backfiring big time on the dems.  People are laughing at it.

But I think he's gone far enough in placating here.  The vote needs to come this week.

Is your point this is all an exercise in futility due to Murkowski, Collins and Flake @IsailedawayfromFR ?

No, the GOP brings a plastic spoon to a gun fight.

Considering the tides of gender politics and media bias the GOP is fighting, this must be one helluva of a plastic spoon --- because the last I checked Kavanaugh's nomination is still alive and on track --- and this is the prize.

Even if the liberal Pubs vote no McConnell can bring the vote to the full Senate.

If the Pub party wants to commit suicide and fall in line with the pc culture we can't stop them. All we can do is point at the moment and say, "here was one more battle where the Pubs lost and the republic was diminished".

One thought, when the Rats tried this garbage with Clarence Thomas I wonder if it ended up solidifying his judicial views. Instead of slipping to the left as most judges do, he has been as solid as a rock in his strict constructionist views. Justice Thomas is human and the attack on his sterling character had to leave some impression on him. If so, the same may well apply to Kavanaugh.

There are 11 Rs and 10 Ds on  that committee. If Grassley loses just one R the Rats win.
He is in a very difficult position. Collins for one wants to hear from Dr Ford. Flake would like
nothing better then to give Trump the finger on his way out the door. We need to cut Grassley
some slack.

So, what?   He should just continue on allowing the left to dictate how this thing goes....week after week?  Doesn't that set a dangerous precedent.... or rather, another one?

No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

I thought I heard the extension is just until 2:30 today, Sat.. If they don't meet this extension, GOP can say we tried.

That's what I just saw on Fox.  She will try another delaying tactic, of course, but I believe, and hope, that Grassley's patience is at an end.

@Emjay  I think it is.  The latest tweet sounds like he's exasperated.

I don't fault Grassley for giving this fraud so many chances.  But I will fault him if he lets it drag on beyond any semblance of cooperation from this biddy.

OK so now she says she'll testify.

We all figured she'd come up with something to keep this farce rolling. Can't wait to see what it is.

Once again:
Can't anybody here play this game?

The Pubbies caved on the "red lines", and now they've lost this round.

The woman says she's going to appear, but details remain to be worked out.

Now watch for the "delays" before she will appear.
Watch for the demands from the other side.
Any attempt by Grassley to limit or rebuff them will be met with "he's trying to silence her!"

This is what happens when you don't "play the game".
Right now, I'd rate Kavanaugh's chances of making it to the Supreme Court Bench about 40-60 (for-against). At least "through the Senate".

If I was Mr. Trump, I'd get on the phone to Judge Kavanaugh RIGHT NOW and ask him if he'd be willing to accept a recess appointment to the Court...

Is that a possibility?  Could Trump give Kavanaugh a recess appointment?

I'm not giving up on Kavanaugh being voted in but I am getting really sick and tired of this game this woman and the rats are playing.

emjay asks:
"Is that a possibility?  Could Trump give Kavanaugh a recess appointment?"

OF COURSE HE CAN.
That's Mr. Trump's prerogative under the authority granted him by the Constitution as president.

I'm the only member of this forum who's even mentioned this.

Read up on your history, folks.
A question for everyone reading this:
Who was the last Supreme Court Justice who was a "recess appointee"?
And which president appointed him?

The answer is gonna surprise you!

Can't anybody here play this game??????

Is your point this is all an exercise in futility due to Murkowski, Collins and Flake @IsailedawayfromFR ?
Where do you get that from?

I said Grassley needs to do his job.  He runs the Judiciary Committee and needs to get his Committee to vote now after all hearings have been held as per Senate procedures.

He cannot run Murkowski and Collins' vote.  They are not on the Judiciary Committee.  All he can do is run Judiciary.

You are the one displaying some type of hesitation in seeking to pacify members who are going to vote the way they wish anyway/

For your edification, here is who is on Judiciary Committee.  Collins and Murkowski are not on it.

Grassley, Chuck (IA), Chairman
Hatch, Orrin G. (UT)
Graham, Lindsey (SC)
Cornyn, John (TX)
Lee, Mike (UT)
Cruz, Ted (TX)
Sasse, Ben (NE)
Flake, Jeff (AZ)
Crapo, Mike (ID)
Tillis, Thom (NC)
Kennedy, John (LA)
Feinstein, Dianne (CA), Ranking Member
Leahy, Patrick J. (VT)
Durbin, Richard J. (IL)
Whitehouse, Sheldon (RI)
Klobuchar, Amy (MN)
Coons, Christopher A. (DE)
Blumenthal, Richard (CT)
Hirono, Mazie K. (HI)
Booker, Cory A. (NJ)
Harris, Kamala D. (CA)
