Grassley Announces Monday Vote on Kavanaugh After Rejecting Further Talks With Fordhttp://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/09/grassley-scrubs-talks-with-ford-schedules-monday-vote.htmlSenate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley appears to have ended the halting talks with Dr. Christine Blasey Ford about testifying next week about her allegations of sexual assault against Brett Kavanaugh. After setting a sudden 10:00 PM deadline for agreement with his terms and rejecting further talks with Ford or her lawyers, Grassley has reportedly scheduled a Committee vote on the confirmation for Monday.
More kabuki theatre. One Dem after another, maybe simultaneously, will raise points of order and motions to adjourn. Grassley will let it all play out while the sandman watches.
Grassley just tweeted that he has granted the extension to the Ford woman. I don't know what this means for the vote on Monday.
They want one more day to think it over
It means he doesn't have the votes needed yet.
I think it's highly possible you are correct. I'm thinking there are a few waverers who will only vote for Kavanaugh if Ford gets her hearing.
I hate the freakin' Repukes. Gutless wonders the whole lot of 'em.
@CatherineofAragon Cruz and Beatoff the fake Hispanic O'Rourke debate. There's a thread on the Texas Board.
