Bannon: Trump is facing a 'coup'

Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon said in an interview released Sunday that President Trump is facing a "coup," after the New York Times published an anonymous op-ed written by a "senior administration official" criticizing the president.

"What you saw the other day was as serious as it can get. This is a direct attack on the institutions," Bannon told Reuters. "This is a coup, okay."

The op-ed described how its author and other nameless officials work to curb the president's worse impulses.

"This is a crisis," Bannon told Reuters. "There is a cabal of Republic establishment figures who believe Donald Trump is not fit to be president of the United States."

Bannon contended that this is an almost unprecedented occurrence in American history.

Yeah – OK. This is the same guy that said the Trump Tower meeting with Russians was treasonous.

I wonder if this is all going to come to a head in early October when Trump declassifies the FISA applications and memos.

It seems like it's October 2016 and the Rats, establishment, and media are throwing everything at Trump and he still won. I think the same thing is going on and Trunp is holding back a "Trump" card. I really admire his tenacity. He just doesn't quit. It's easy to see how he became a billionaire.

Doubtful, since the full release of FISA documents would expose sources and methods. Even if it did show something, it would not change the fact Cambridge Analytics was making overtures to Assange and the inadvisable Trump Tower meeting occurred.

I know that doesn't address your concerns but It's the best the Trump apologists have to defend the broken promises.  You expect too much from A GOP President and Congress.
