Rahm Emanuel announces he's not running for Chicago mayor re-election

CHICAGO (WLS) --
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Tuesday morning he's not running for re-election.

Emanuel made the announcement at a City Hall press conference that he will not seek re-election at the end of his term. The mayoral election will take place on Feb. 26, 2019.

"Today, the time has come to make another tough choice. As much as I love this job, and will always love this city and its residents, I've decided not to seek re-election," he said.

Emanuel was visibly emotional during the announcement.

Translation he is in deep s**t if he is not running. Also it means that Chicago didn't get the Amazon H2.. I think.

He barely squeaked out the Primary last time and he pulled all the stops to do it. Now the city is awash in blood and debt. There was no way he was going to make it another election.

Chicago has a fine history of electing crappy Mayors.  Harold Washington. Jane Byrne. Dick Daley's stupid son.

He is hated in Chicago, and he knows it. Not even the Jews will vote for him again. He's done.
It is interesting to think that without Hussein Obama, this guy would be a nothing nobody working at Chipotle.
