The Dems made a major strategic error by trying to bum rush Grassley into giving in and delaying the hearing. He just let them swing till they were exhausted, and was ready for them with good counterarguments, and taunting them with 'how long is this going to go on before I can proceed?'

Now I see he's letting the Dems bloviate up front in a multi-day hearing, all of which will be forgotten by tommorow. He's playing the game well.

As Democratic senators fought to delay the hearing of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, and as spectators jarringly heckled the process Tuesday, his two young daughters were rushed from the hearing room, according to sources.

The two, Margaret and Liza, were taken out by their mother, Ashley, as the hearing got “hot,” said one insider.

“It was very unpleasant for young children,” said the insider.

At the beginning of the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing for the federal appeals court judge, senators angrily battled over the process.

And at times hecklers in the audience shouted out, apparently scaring the young girls there to support their father. One screamed, “This is a mockery. This is a travesty of justice. Cancel Brett Kavanaugh, adjourn the hearing.”

Margaret is 13, Elizabeth 10.

First Observations on the Kavanaugh Hearings

Paul has more fortitude than I do to live-blog the moment-by-moment unfolding of the circus at the Kavanaugh hearings. I predicted when Kavanaugh was nominated that the hearings would be disrupted. Not a hard prediction to make, but still—that didn’t take long. The hard part will be telling the difference between the protesters and the conduct of Corey Booker and Kamala Harris.

Maybe another way of thinking about it is that it is nice to see the Trump 2020 re-election grassroots campaign is turning out so enthusiastically at the hearings. The interesting question right now is whether these protests will become a daily occurrence. I hope so.

Funny how the spirit of civility we were told about during the McCain memorial observances lasted less than 48 hours. Somehow I’m sure it is still Trump’s fault.

Yeah, it's pretty stupid to signal your intent to block a confirmation and then pretend to 'care' about documents not released.  But then... pretty stupid is the Dems all over.

Thus proving.... that the rats only believe in that "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law" if or when it concerns a fellow leftist (like Hillary).   Otherwise, it's an automatic guilty verdict assumed.
