Take your sanctimony and stuff it up your ass. All you jackasses were seal clapping Ted when he made a jerk of himself at the Convention. Fast forward two years and now Ted is flailing in an election that should have been wrapped up the day after the Primary results. Now everyone has to bail Ted out and take resources away from NY and PA, two states that have a possibility to flip to Red. He should be mocked.

I am a huge Cruz supporter Frank and yes, you bet I applauded Ted for having the backbone to speak from the heart as to what he felt was right for country.  He told people to vote their conscience...he didn't say DO NOT VOTE for Donny but to vote their conscience...then he made a public statement weeks later while the anti Trump sentiment was fresh in people's minds and announced he was voting for Trump as he was PROMISED that a conservative(s) would be appointed to the bench. That issue alone was one of Ted's biggest concerns.  Protecting the SCOTUS. He caught a lot of flack for that as well.  Can't have it both ways Frank. Cruz helped Trump get elected and Trump is now going to help Cruz get elected.

Both of them are hated by the DEMS, the progressives and the GOPe...because both of them are willing to do what they feel is right for country. Both of them have similar agendas.  Trump was able to dominate the media, Cruz was not.  Trump slung mud, Cruz refrained.

I am glad that Hillary was defeated and President Trump has made some tremendous headway in heading this country in the right direction.

Peace.

Poor @INVAR  is going to need his Binky to get to sleep.  The Orange God Saves Ted Cruz.

Yeah, maybe two binkies and a drinkie.

It's interesting that Donald Trump is not as petty and idiotic as some of his followers.

Really good post @libertybele and I second all your sentiments there.  @Frank Cannon always leaves out the part where Ted Cruz voted for Trump and said he was doing so.

NY and PA flipping Red, now that's funny!!  Trumps win in PA was an aberration @Frank Cannon.  What are you smoking?

Well, let me put it to you this way Emjay, if it weren't for Cruz announcing he was voting for Trump because of a promise to nominate conservative justices, there's a chance that Trump may have not won.  We will never know for sure.  What I am certain of, is the likes of McConnell and cronies won't lift a finger to help him because Ted has refused to become part of their country club.  McConnell would rather see the seat go to a DEM then to someone who refuses to play the establishment game.  Trump realizes this and he also realizes he needs Ted's help in the Senate as he needs to maintain the majority in the Senate.  Impeachment talks, and all the dirty DEM b.s. continues to mount against him.

Good luck, @corbe   I really hope you will show her enough respect to get a second date.  And DO NOT ask her if she puts out on second dates.

We'll never know for sure, @libertybele but it certainly helped Trump and he did keep his part of that bargain.

We need to somehow get rid of the likes of McConnell and all the other squishes.  Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are true blessings in the senate.

She's my new neighbor in a rental next house over and seems very sweet, (50'ish).  I have to be nice or she could burn my place down without drawing any suspicion to herself. My first wife was a WAF, so I can do this.  She got a big laugh out of my question about putting out.  Pushing 70 with a short stick that just isn't as important to me as the blessing of being around people that make me laugh, like here.

I don't trust Ted Cruz. He will stab president in the back,,,again.  President Trump believes in second and third chances.
I don't.  School of hard knocks, taught me well.  That is all I have to say about TED. Time will prove it out. Ted traitor.

When and how did Ted Cruz stab Trump in the back?  Or have you been reading the National Enquirer or listening to Alex Jones?

Donny should show up at the rally, tell everyone to vote their conscience, drop the mic and walk out.

It's easy to forget what Trump did that led up to that. It looks like Trump is smart enough to know he's going to need all the no votes he can get with the coming impeachment trial.

You need to educate yourself a little on Senator Ted Cruz's background.  Traitor he is absolutely not, and quite frankly I find that extremely insulting.

Too bad Trump didn't talk Ted into being his VP; that would have been an unbeatable team!!

I have educated myself about Ted and family. I guess I need to support him even as RINO, and hope for the best. Truth is insulting?   I don't get some people on here. You all assume, I have not done my research. SMH.

This thread is insane...yet it reflects the internal failure of the GOP in this era.

First, Cruz is not a RINO...not even close. And I'm as solid of a Trump guy as you'll find anywhere. Second, Trump was very unfair to Cruz in the primary...borderline unethical...and Cruz made an unethical turn or two himself. But politics is a brutal affair and sad to say we need that kind of brute mentality right now in the White House...because the alternative is graceful defeat.

This whole discussion reflects the NT vs Pro-Trump struggle inside the GOP and across conservatism generally.  Like Cruz and Trump, we may not like each other, but we sure as hell have to be smart enough to understand that we need each other if we're going to fight back this Socialist tide that's fast approaching. Trump and Cruz set a great example...they toss aside the personal animus and focus on the bigger fight. God willing we should all have the wisdom to hold our noses and follow their lead.

And how exactly @LegalAmerican have you "educated" yourself on Ted and his family? You're the one that posted, not once but twice, that he was on a DC Madam's List, which was F-A-L-S-E.

Your research must be limited to Trump-approved publications, which tend to have no veracity whatsoever.

Give it up on the "not an American citizen" meme, that's obviously not true, either.

Your blatherings have run so far off the rails that other Trump supporters have made it a point to correct your statements about Senator Cruz, without any prodding from me.

I'd still ban you for that "walking to the ovens" post of yours a day or two ago. Such vitriol indicates an inability to engage in reasoned discourse. Try as I might, I find little in your posts of any redeeming value.

So he's not taking any salary? Definitely a noble gesture, but he's getting it back in spades by spending his weekends at his properties, where his security entourage is billeted to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars per day. Actually, I do not consider this to be nearly egregious as what the Clintons and Bidens have done when they charged rent to their SS details. Trump's a shrewd businessman, and he's putting his knowledge to good use.

Take your stupid disruptive bullshit back to FR numbnuts.

You've taken a possible positive event and an olive branch among two prior combatants and their supporters and turned it into a stinking pile of dog shit.

This could have been a peacemaking thread here at TBR, but you just threw a can of gas into the dumpster fire.    Nice job jerk.

Interesting that you reference your leader in the same manner some of his detractors reference your adoration.  I've never used that term, but okay - I'll take you at your word there.

I don't mind you saying it because I'm proud of the fact. I'm a Trump supporter, not because I think the man is wonderful and classy and wicked smart, but because he's a bull with his head down, his horns out and is a relentless motherfluffer. Which is the only way to be when fighting deep state corruption and a rising Socialism...he's the man for the hour, but far from the pedestal topper so many NT's claim we Trump voters have set him up as being. Quite frankly, he has Mark Twain's perfect combination of confidence and ignorance...the ingredients, as Twain cleverly asserts...to ensure success.

Perhaps in the future we can return to a more cerebral William F Buckley sort of conservative leadership, but for today's battle we need a Patton or an Anthony Mcauliffe who will charge, charge and keep charging until the field is theirs. When the Dems call for Trump to resign before he's impeached, I know his answer will be "Nuts!".

Any other GOP President, would likely have wilted before the onslaught of the deep state by now...but Trump never will, and that is why he had my vote, and will continue to have my support, and in the end it is why he will win.
We have the best government that money can buy. Mark Twain
