CNN commentator Symone Sanders on Wednesday blamed the murder of Iowa college student Mollie Tibbetts on “toxic masculinity.”

Mollie Tibbetts was murdered b/c she told a man to leave her alone while she was jogging. Her murderer happens to be undocumented. This isn’t about border security. This is about toxic masculinity. Mollie Tibbetts lost her life b/c a man couldn’t take her saying no. Full stop.

In Mexico and it's happened some in other parts of Latin America, they have the "femicide" problem. This is what I've always thought about Mexico, "toxic masculinity" really seems a lot like being "macho" or "machismo" in Mexico.

Femicide, the "disappeareds" in Mexico, seems a bit like this.  At the same time, very sadly, the US has had a few of these joggers' cases of where they have been "stalked down" and killed.  It's very sad, a woman, especially, younger women, can not simply go for a jog.  Michigan, New York, Texas, I know of examples from all of those states, maybe New England too had a case in the last few years.

He had seen this woman before. It was not random. He probably was there looking for her because he had seen her jogging there before. Also, he stalked another woman in the same way. So this is a pattern of behavior and not a one time thing.

He belongs in prison for the rest of his life. He is a very disturbed young man with impulse control problems. He will fit right in. That is the description of 90% of the people there.
