These fines are from 2014.
https://www.austinchronicle.com/news/2014-07-11/fcc-to-radio-pirates-15000-arrgh/This "flagship station" is a pirate FM station, lucky to broadcast 10 miles, run by a couple of old hippies who own buildings in Austin. They replaced punk rock with Alex Jones around the same time as the complaints and fines. They also led a local crusade against flouridated water apparently.
A $15,000 fine is small for the FCC then and now. The FCC has no compunction raiding your house and taking your radio stuff and imposing 6 figure fines afterward if it thinks it needs to.
Seems AP is more interested in piling on Alex Jones than in reporting the truth of the matter. Who'd of thought.
I am not an Alex Jones/InfoWars fan, just a fan of the truth.
