And to think how many Republicans are talking right in line with this.

If the 'government' seizes it, then it isn't fine. If a private company buys the assets and changes it, that's between the asset owner and the company, and yes, that is fine because it is private. (although the way TOR is set up, that couldn't happen, there isn't a central hub to buy or take over, they can buy a page or two but that's it).

We already are the purveyors of banned ideas, from both the Democrat and Republican sides. They just can't do anything so called 'legal' about it yet. That's what they are trying to fix. They want to shut down all sites like TBR. And with that, many alternative news-sites will go with them. They want a society like Iran or China, where all information is controlled and 'gated' by them.

If we all are forced to release our names and addresses to the government, I guarantee we will all be audited by the IRS shortly afterwards. Any strong arm thing the government can do to shut down dissent, they will do.

You do have to be careful. For sh**s and giggles, I set up one of my old laptops to be a pure dark web machine. I stripped all data out of it, gave it a clean OS install, and never connect it to my own network. More out of curiosity, but you never know when you need something 'dark'.
