A little noticed detail in Santa Barbara’s recent drive to criminalize plastic straws, which culminated in the Santa Barbara city council taking testimony from a nine-year-old about the planetary menace, has come to light in recent days. During that council session, councilman Jesse Dominguez said to following in response to citizens who asked “what’s next?”:

“Unfortunately, common sense is just not common. We have to regulate every aspect of people’s lives.”

WHOA.  Everyone on TBR needs to see D'Souza's movie, now in theaters, The Death of a Nation.  It's his best documentary yet, IMO.

You think straws are bad.
Around here we throw ALL PLASTIC in the land fill.
China will not take plastic with catsup and everything nasty know to man saturating it.
Our people are too damn dumb to recycle. Just like cardboard that has pizza juice all over it mixed with used oil and etc..
Our land fill will be taller than Mt. Everest in a few years. Another good idea bit the dust by people that don't care.
