And taxing the rich has been tried in other countries, but has failed miserably. Sooner or later, everyone ends up paying for this "free stuff" one way or the other.
But when you try to explain that to the true believers -- show them examples of the disastrous results of socialism wherever it's been tried -- and all you get is a blank stare. They seem to somehow think that because this is America, we will do socialism right and it will work.
