By passing an ordinance on Tuesday, the city’s Board of Supervisors shat out a resolution that will undoubtedly be approved by new mayor London Breed who is looking to put her stamp on municipal matters as the first woman of color to have been elected to the position.
The straw bans are the latest craze on the political left and they are being implemented in Democrat-controlled municipalities just as quickly as the symbolic bans on gay conversion therapy but it would seem that in consideration of San Francisco’s growing image problem with filthy and dangerous streets littered with drug needles and piling up with human feces, getting rid of plastic drinking utensils is a serious case of misplaced priorities.
