President Trump on Tuesday is expected to announce help for farmers who are being hit hard by billions of dollars in tariffs on their products.
The Trump administration, which has been talking about providing emergency aid to the agriculture industry, could offer upward of $12 billion in help to calm rising concerns about the trade war that could hit U.S. farmers hardest, Politico first reported.....

This is what we had been told, that the tariffs would hurt farmers the most.
Here's a thought, lift those tariffs and let farmers have access to those markets, and you won't have to give them 12 Billion in aid.
50 Billion in tariffs mentioned so far, and we are already having to propose giving back 12 billion to the farmers, before you've even collected on that first 50 billion?

It has been that way for about two generations now.  Maybe even before that...?   

Which is one reason why Conservatives believe in small or smaller government.  Everything government touches turns to caca (like the Obama reverse Midas touch).

Trade wars have consequences and we warned about them and we’re ridiculed and disparaged for daring to disagree with Trump’s actions which are said to be ‘America first’.  Unless you are hurt by his idiocy in policy, then Trump will fling billions of other taxpayer monies at the injured on top of the 3 trillion in deficit spending he has already authorized for the next two years.

This is just the beginning.  As this trade war escalates, our exporters are going to need far more help than the government can provide.
