Pass a SINGLE bill (HR25) currently lingering in the House Ways and Means Committee and the problem is permanently solved! Why won't they do that?  Because it takes away their power to manipulate us (social engineering)!

They.... meaning the RINOs in Congress, that is.  Right?  The solution is there.  It's even obvious... to most rational, thinking Americans.  But Congress won't do it.  Which is why we have dysfunctional government.... again.   Even if/when the GOP is in majority control.... we can't get what needs to be done accomplished.  It sucks.

Just so you know. If an iPhone costs $500, it doesn't cost $500 for it to be put together. Much of the cost is R&D and software.

Funny you should mention that product.  Tim Cook has been communicating with Trump over the tariffs.  Cook was also a guest at the Macron state dinner.  There's been some debate as to whether a side deal was made not to place tariffs on Apple products from China.  Navarro says he had "no knowledge" of any deal and Apple declined to comment.

So, get rid of the job-killing/business-killing regulations, bring back manufacturing to America and offer folks willing to work for a lower salary and benefits a job in manufacturing.  I bet a helluva lot of Americans would be willing to work under that scenario.... especially when presented as a means to get cheaper goods without having to import them.   No?

DeeCee is never going to let go of their power and let that happen.  Never.

Our days as a manufacturing giant are over, unless or until this entire Beast of a government is stripped of what they have become.

And that is not going to happen without a whole lot of bloodshed and misery.  Too much money, too much power and control is in the hands of the fed beast, and they are not going to permit it to be taken from them without a whole lot of hurt.

A day without a chinaman's product on the shelves will be a good day!

Welcome to a reality of empty shelves.

I look forward to all the outrageous screaming that is going happen when the cost of a smartphone/cellphone and computers/components/TVs/Gaming consoles are beyond what your average Joe Sixpack can afford with this fun trade war Trump has started with everyone.

I will then remind everyone that they applauded it.

Of course then I fully expect the Trump side to lobby the government to do something to subsidize the consumer and get prices 'lower' again.

Kinda like when the government tried to lower cable rates.

Have you chosen to make the sacrifice yourself? I assume you are using a cell phone or computer to post here. A vast majority of the components are from China.

Heck, you can't even have something with a Lithium battery without it likely being from China as we don't mine it domestically and there are only a couple of places in the world to get it.

So how about leading by example and discarding all Chinese component products you have, starting with the computer you are on now.

It's becoming apparent that like the Left, Trump supporters believe that some animals are more equal than others.

You and I must 'do without' to save the country - while they get to enjoy what they want while the rest of us have to do without or pay extra for.

Swamp dwellers of all stripes!  The current tax system is the basis for their cottage industry, selling favors under the tax code for campaign cash!

What we really need IMO is someone actually serious about “drain the swamp” in 2020.  Not just someone who uses things like “drain the swamp”, “lock her up”, “Mexico will pay for the wall”, "small government", and “proposing a term limit Constitutional Amendment in the first 100 days” as campaign slogans but someone who is actually willing to use the bully pulpit of the Presidency to push for these type of policies.

I adore facts and data and abhor lies and liars.

I get that, but I also think he'd still be hampered by insiders like McConnell.  When Ted came in, it was on the Tea Party wave.  Those types remaining in Congress have yet to be fully embraced by the party.

Barring an unforseen non-Vatican-sanctioned miracle.... we're never going to get Ted Cruz (as CIC).  Might as well grasp that reality and put the dream to bed.  This right here right now is probably the best we can do and the best it's gonna get..... ie staving off the leftist assault on America, temporarily.   JS....

Given the rules manipulation at the last Republican National convention, you are likely right unless he opted to run as an independent or third party candidate.

Now you are just talking crazy.   Get a grip on reality.   There is nothing going to happen to make your life, or mine, more difficult because of these tariffs.  Just because you say it will does not make it true.   Get back to us in a year Mr. Kreskin.  Till then go bend some spoons with the power of your mind.

There's been a tremendous destruction of stock market value as a result of Trump's tariffs.  I firmly believe that his policies on deregulation and tax cuts have spurred the stock market.  He deserves credit for that IMO (the talk about giving Obama credit is complete nonsence IMO); however, if he gets credit for the upside, I believe he deserves credit for the downside of his economically crazy tariffs:

Quote
President Donald Trump's tough trade tactics and rhetoric have caused the destruction of more than $1 trillion in market value, according to J.P. Morgan's top quantitative strategist.

"By attributing the trade-related news flow (positive or negative) to the performance of the U.S. market, we estimated the impact on U.S. equities to be negative 4.5 percent" since March, J.P. Morgan's Marko Kolanovic said in a note Wednesday. "Taking the current market capitalization, this translates into $1.25 trillion of value destruction for U.S. companies. For a comparison, this is about two-thirds of the value of total fiscal stimulus."

Right, because taxing the consumer never hurts anyone.

It's become like arguing with Leftists anymore when it comes to all the apologists for Trump.

IF the economy slows or we enter a recession due to Trumps rambunctious tariffs you know he'll blame the Fed for raising interest rates too soon.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.
