Speak for yourself, Joe . . .

On today’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough claimed “we all know” that President Trump is being “blackmailed” by Vladimir Putin. Here’s Scarborough:

“Donald Trump sat there, and was obsequious to Vladimir Putin . . . We all know that Vladimir Putin is holding something over Donald Trump. We do not know what it is. But we know it must be something extraordinary, because no rational politician, no rational president would act this way if he weren’t being blackmailed on some level . . . I know that even Donald Trump supporters know by this point that Vladimir Putin has something over Trump. I know they know that. Some of them may try to deny it. Not many.”

About that dead intern, Lori.  We all know you killed her and got away with it.  Who is blackmailing you, Joe?

It is indeed breathtaking how much of an idiot Joe Scarborough has become.

It would have been extraordinary for Trump, at a joint press conference with Putin after a private meeting, to start attacking Russia from the podium.   Rather than the paranoid explanation that Putin "has something" on Trump, why not the more plausible explanation that Trump is trying to deal with the man and the nation he represents?   The pattern isn't all that dissimilar to how Trump deals with Lil' Kim - flattery and a refusal to embarrass his adversary in public helps build the context for, hopefully, fruitful negotiations.

Like I said, the media was going to go with the angle no matter what Trump said or did, they know Mueller is going nowhere so it is their last desperate attempt to link Trump to the Russians.  In a few days, most people will see how silly these attacks on Trump were.

Russia's true motives in its "election meddling" don't seem that hard to figure out.   It's hacking of the Dem server and the likelihood that it had Hillary's e-mails were intended to gain the ability to blackmail who it figured - like just about everyone else - would be the next U.S. President.

While it's possible, the motivation for Russia to collude with the Trump campaign seems weak at best.  Far more likely is that Russia assumed Hillary would win, and wanted the means to hold her e-mails over her head like a sword of Damocles.   It that was the motive, why collude with Trump and make it more likely for him to win?   The leverage they possessed was over Hillary, not the Donald.

And they still have the info which would put all of this collusion stuff to an immediate full stop & basically destroy the reputations and careers of dozens of significant characters. This would explain the current ongoing media hysteria over Trump meeting Putin.

There is plenty of silliness to go around.  In 2012, the Media launched a months-long attack on Mitt Romney when he labeled Russia a geopolitical foe.  They reveled in Obama's immaturity.  1980's are calling.  You know, back when grandpa Ray-gun was paranoid in his senility?  How clever!
Well, eventually they determined that Russia does NOT like gays.  Strike one.
Then Russia made Obama look pathetic in Crimea.  Strike two.
When Putin used gossip sites to undermine Hillary Clinton ... well, they finally said of him what they could never bring themselves to say about Uncle Joe.

Trump has handled this manufactured crisis about as poorly as he could have.  That subject has been beaten to death, but I just wish he would quit adding to the pile.

Nah, Trump isn't being blackmailed.

It's funny how Scarborough worked as hard as he could during the primaries to help make Trump the nominee and did a 180 as soon as he was elected.

Scarborough seems to be getting his talking points from Joy Behar on "The View". She said virtually the same thing yesterday. Since Behar is dumber than the average rock,Scarborough should be proud of himself.

BTW,if you don't think Behar is dumb, consider this. She started out as a union member school teacher in a NYC public elementary school, and was actually fired. I can't even imagine what it would take to get a radical leftist female dingbat union member fired from a public services job in NYC,but she found it.
Anyone who isn't paranoid in 2021 just isn't thinking clearly!
