Trump rips Obama hours before summit with Putin

President Trump ripped former President Barack Obama early Monday in a series of tweets hours before a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“President Obama thought that Crooked Hillary was going to win the election, so when he was informed by the FBI about Russian Meddling, he said it couldn’t happen, was no big deal, & did NOTHING about it,” he tweeted from Helsinki, Finland.

“When I won it became a big deal and the Rigged Witch Hunt headed by Strzok!,” he added, referring to controversial FBI agent Peter Strzok.

Beats the hell out of letting your opponent and replacement (if/when it's a Democrat opponent) bash the hell out of you continually.... in an 8-year stance of bending over, grabbing ankles and getting politically reamed .... until it is deemed appropriate to finally bash back (only if/when it's a Republican opponent) "a la George W. Bush style".

Even one of the President's friends over at Fox & Friends found these tweets "ridiculous" heading into the summit:

"Among those who criticized Trump’s tweets was Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade, who is usually among the president’s most ardent supporters in the media. Kilmeade, discussing Trump’s tweets ahead of his meeting with Putin, called the president’s comments “ridiculous” and “insulting to past administrations.”

“That’s by far the most ridiculous tweet of late, and that is insulting to past administrations,” Kilmeade said on Fox and Friends Monday morning. “He can’t be saying that going into the Russian summit.”

I agree with that and find that the GWB method of never responding to criticism was a very bad idea.

Yes, I can....Bill Clinton.  From the ‘peace dividend’ military draw down to Loral Space, the Agreed Framework, and incompetence on bin Laden, he’s single-handedly responsible for every geopolitical problem we face almost 20 years after his presidency.

Bash on, Mr. President.  That arrogant sob still thinks he was a good president.  Someone needs to keep reminding him that he wasn't.

If Obama would go quietly into that good night, he wouldn't be bashed, but he won't and bashing is totally appropriate.

@catfish1957  So many offensive things in one post.  One, calling Trump supporters blind; two, using the horrifically outdated term 'orange.'  Three, Trump is NOTHING like Obama. Obama was lazy and selfish and put the country into a bad hole that Trump is trying to dig us out of.  Also, Obama did interfere in the election and, after Trump's win, refused to stop criticizing Trump.

I would welcome any substantive comment you would care to make about Trump.  Something meaningful that he's said or done.

Jumping on Trump for 'bashing Obama' is really less than productive and borders on insulting.

I actually like Catfish but he's developed Trump derangement Symptoms.  He and I are proud descendants of the brave Sons of the South who fought in the War of Northern Aggression and are fighting against the inane push to destroy part of our history.  Also those idiots are messing with Robert E. Was it wrong for Kruschev to initiate a policy of "de-Stalinization"?

The entire Trump presidency has been a study in "de-obamafication".
And that's a GOOD thing.

I actual have said several things positive about Trump here at TBR.  But OTOH, I am not afraid to bring up the negatives too.  A lot of the strong Trump supporters here are reasonable.  But....   there are a few who think that he is 100% perfect ...100% of the time in almost cult like fashion  And that drives me crazy.

And yes...it is an honor be in company of fellow Briefers whose confederate ancestors defended their homeland with valor.
