Italy’s right-wing migration policy saves migrant lives – Death toll drops by more than 50%
By Ben Perchiron 11 July 2018

The original humanitarian crisis in Syria which sparked off a massive influx of immigration from Africa and the Middle East into Europe three years ago has now clearly morphed into an economic migration free-for-all, largely because Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel encouraged the “refugees” to make the dangerous crossing of the Mediterranean.

Added to that have been increasing calls from The Pope and The Church generally to accept and assimilate these immigrants into Europe, with little or no thought as to whether the immigrants themselves will assimilate to Europe itself. Recently, Bishops in Malta suggested that closing Malta’s ports to the “NGO ferry service” (which has aided human traffickers bringing in thousands of migrants across the Med) could potentially increase the death toll of crossing the sea.

But Italy’s new government and their stricter immigration policy has busted that myth, with a massive drop in immigration arrivals this year (16,919) of 80% compared to last year (85,197), the death toll for migrants has inevitably also dropped, from 2,258 to 1,058.

And unsecured, somewhat opened borders in the US means organized crime benefits in Mexico, people trekking through the desert and so on.  Even, if I were for open-borders,  the system as of now, is deadly.

I elsewhere tried to make this point long ago. Opening the U.S. border would mean a mass migration with mass transit death. If you don't care about the migration then what about the deaths?

It falls on deaf ears.

The new Italian government should keep harping on its policy being humanitarian.
