Female Genital Mutilation often removes less tissue than Male...fewer nerve endings.  Yes, everyone always assumes it's full clitoral removal, but that's only the most extreme and rare. Usually, it's similar to male circumcision, removal of the clitoral hood.

We're not talking about a bit of a snip here or there.  We're talking about the life changing kind of butchery.  Not equivalent to circumcision at all.

Yes, we are.  Have you even read the new law?  I'm sure you haven't.

This isn't about clitoral removal (which is what gets all the attention).  It's preventing even the more common FGM, which is to knick the labia minora, perhaps removing the clitoral hood.

And the legislature and Governor Sununu rightfully stepped in and prevented it.
