Texas: Mother of man slain by Muslim in ‘honor killing’ relates threat

Gelareh Bagherzadeh protests outside the Islamic Education Center in Houston, Texas on Nov. 13, 2009. Prosecutors say Ali Mahwood-Awad Irsan, a conservative Muslim, shot and killed Bagherzadeh in January 2012 because she encouraged his daughter to marry 28-year-old Coty Beavers, a Christian man.

The mother of a Houston man shot to death in an “honor killing” testified in tears Monday that she suspected Ali Mahwood-Awad Irsan as soon as homicide detectives arrived at her door in the middle of the night.

Its a mystery to me why a man would bring his family to a country he utterly wants no part of.
