The Heck with Civility—This Is War

American Greatness
Michael Walsh
July 5, 2018

At least since the appearance of my book, Rules for Radical Conservatives—originally written under the name and in the voice of my radical leftist character created for National Review, “David Kahane”—I’ve been asked whether I advocate using the same tactics against the Left as they use on us. And my answer is always the same: of course I do.

Treat us with the same contempt with which we treat you.  Or, to put it in language you might actually understand: treat us with same respect we give you, which is none.

After all, you don’t see us being nice to you, do you? You don’t see us ever reaching across the aisle, extending the olive branch, blah blah blah.  Laurel wreaths are for winners, but olive branches can go pound sand. If a tie, to use the old sports cliché, is like kissing your sister, losing is like… well, don’t make me go there.  Remember that poor schmuck Sully in Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1985 movie, Commando?  You know, the part where Arnold quips: “Remember, Sully, when I promised to kill you last”?

Like Arnold: we lied.

So it’s them or us...

...If we react with anything less than a full-throated defense of both Western and American civilization, we’re going to lose.

Considering this mindset is applied to anyone who does not march in lockstep with Trump and his "You're with us 100% or you are an enemy to be destroyed" hordes of rabid cult-of-personality followers, you have the exact mindset that existed in Europe in the 30s.

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. ...The time for pushback is now. As I like to observe on Twitter: tolerance is not a virtue, diversity is not a goal, and hate is sometimes a very useful, self-protective emotion. Tolerance for the intolerant is suicidal. Diversity has never in history produced a successful country or nation-state, only a body politic at constant war with itself. And Christians are taught to hate—yes, hate—the sin but love the sinner; after all, Christians also believe that redemption is possible for everyone.

In the meantime, while we’re waiting for the Left to see the light, let’s turn the tables and start using their own weapons against them. The very first Rule in my books of Rules is this: “Know Your Enemy, His Intentions, and His Weapons—and Use Them Against Him.”

What are you waiting for? Get cracking.

Yes, the same false dichotomy exists now as then:
Either communism or Trumpian Nationalist Populism, whereas both are forms of the same thing. This populism is a 3rd-way fascist movement - socialist - which is a station on the rail to communism, and like in kind to American 3rd Way Socialism.

But the true way, American Conservatism, has naught to do with either one.

And Christians are taught to hate—yes, hate—the sin but love the sinner

Two things from this quote from the essay -

1.  We have been told by BOTH Leftist Democrats AND Trump Republicans in regards to this quote, that it is not our place to judge sin at all because A)- they are not electing a pope and B)-  because behavior is what defines the person and therefore we cannot 'judge' their behavior as wrong or sinful.

2. We are to love the sin of debt and deficit spending if our guy does it - and hate the sin of debt and deficit spending if a Democrat does it.  Extrapolate that to every other Leftist agenda item that is being adopted by the GOP.

No it is not about hating the 'sin' and loving Americans politically.  Instead it is about loving what is 'pragmatic' and acceptable in order to 'win' and hating everyone else who is not in lockstep on your side.

It is why we have myriad and plenty of essays now informing us that we need to drop being civil, because we are at war.  March with them to Destroy the enemy, or be declared the enemy.

In fact, that statement is wholly incorrect.

Tolerance is indeed a virtue. Without Christian tolerance, this nation never would have been, and certainly would not have ascended to a world power.

Diversity is a goal. Without diversity, any stock becomes inbred and halting. What is missing is assimilation.

Hate is never useful. Ever. Hate removes reason.

Diversity is was makes nations successful and promotes ingenuity. Our strength is indeed our diversity. The Great Melting Pot. Do not mistake multiculturalism for anything but the bastardization of diversity that it is. The melting must occur (*assimilation).

And yes, everyone IS redeemable... Just not of their own accord.

That such a screed would be noted affirmatively is part of the problem, not the solution.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
