Your Navy Operating Forward – Danish Straits, Baltic Sea, Norwegian Sea

Right now your Navy is 100 percent on watch around the globe helping to preserve the American way of life. Whether it be operating and training off the coast of Spain or forward deployed to the Arabian Gulf, the flexibility and presence provided by our U.S. naval forces provides national leaders with great options for protecting and maintaining our national security and interests around the world. The imagery below highlights the Navy’s ability to provide those options by operating forward.

Lt. Dave Dyal, the material and transportations officer assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), discusses the replenishment-at-sea evolutions aboard the ship. Iwo Jima, homeported in Mayport, Fla., is on deployment to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
