Fox News analyst draws flak for saying Dems 'sure don't love' America

Fox News analyst Brit Hume drew sharp backlash on social media Wednesday after saying members of the Democratic party “don’t love” America.

Hume had shared a tweet on July 4 linking to a post on the conservative political blog, Power Line, titled: “Why do Democrats hate America?”

“Hate may be too strong a word but they sure don’t love it,” Hume wrote in response to the link on Twitter.

He’s right.  Yesterday I saw lots of leftists on social media screaming “f*** the flag”, “I hate America,” “freedom doesn’t mean s**t”, etc.  Tell the truth about it.

I deleted an earlier tweet that said Democrats don’t love America. It was based on a Gallup poll that found only a minority of Dems now very proud of this country. A number of people said they think that’s not a fair conclusion from the poll. I agree and thus the deletion.

Just consider their most prominent leaders over the last 100 years.  Wilson, Roosevelt, Johnson, Obama.  All led the nation through times of taxation, socialistic policies, war, and national strife.  That's some legacy.

I grew up in a Dem family.  As far as loving your country, fifty years ago there was little difference between Dems or Pubbies.
It's only in the last forty-fifty years we've seen the emergence of the far left in controlling the Dem Party and spreading the America-is-evil garbage.
Remember, in the 1972, in the wake of an unpopular war, a WWII combat veteran, George McGovern, got severely trounced by Richard Nixon. Many Dems couldn't support McGovern's leftist agenda.
Contrast that with today with a smug leftist like Barack Obama winning two elections.
People change.  I just can't understand why so many white males still vote for a party that is determined to see them demeaned, crushed, or eliminated.

Yes, but that's how it's done now.  You make your statement, and then "sort of" apologize for it.  The statement got the headline, the apology, not so much.  And, in this case, Brit backed up his statement in his apology, while not really saying he was wrong to say it.

If they loved it why would the enthusiastically nominate then elect - twice - a presidential candidate who promises to not only transform it, but 'fundamentally transform' it?
