He also worked for Bush 43 as IIRC Secretary of the Presidential Staff and reported directly to Carl Rove. He's said to be knwn amongst the GOP leadership in Congress and well liked by them.

I honestly don't understand what the rush to pick a nominee. It's almost like the President is getting pushed into making a decision now instead of taking his time.

Janice Rodgers-Brown and Priscilla Owen would be two women who are very Conservative who would be excellent choices for the SCOTUS.
