U.S. Military Joins Search for Thai Soccer Team That Has Been Trapped in a Cave for 7 Days

A team from the United States Indo-Pacific Command in Hawaii was deployed to Thailand to help save a youth soccer team that has been trapped inside the miles-long Tham Luang Nang Non cave in Chiang Rai Province.

The 30-member U.S. military team was joined by several British divers in Thailand on Wednesday to help rescue the group of teenagers and their coach who have all been missing inside the country’s longest cave since Saturday, NBC News reported.

Wow.

The international rescue operation -- which includes more than 1,000 people from Thai emergency services, alongside a US military contingent and British cave experts -- has been ramping up its efforts since the 12 boys and their 25-year-old soccer coach disappeared during an outing in the caves in northern Thailand on June 23.

I have a good friend that has semi-retired as an expate living in Thailand.

His wife was from Taiwan, his two kids half Asian, so he is at home culturally and racially with the people. He surfs in their crappy small waves, but loves the place and the people. He travels widely across Asia.
