Ali Irsan, a Jordanian immigrant who faces the death penalty for allegedly carrying out a pair of “honor killings” also plotted to kill his daughter, prosecutors said in opening statements Monday.

“He wanted to kill her,” prosecutor Jon Stephenson told jurors. “But he wanted to kill all those she loved first, so that she would suffer that much more before she died.”
