Aide who mocked McCain no longer at White House: report
By Avery Anapol - 06/05/18 05:46 PM EDT

Kelly Sadler, the White House communications aide who mocked Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) brain cancer, is reportedly no longer working at the White House.

Three unnamed sources told CNN that Sadler is no longer working in the Trump administration.

The White House faced major backlash after Sadler's comments, which were first reported by The Hill. In an internal meeting, Sadler said in a meeting that McCain's opposition to President Trump's CIA nomination didn't matter, because he's "dying anyway."

The 81-year-old senator recently underwent surgery and treatment for brain cancer.

The White House declined to comment on the report. President Trump also declined to comment during a bill signing ceremony when asked by a reporter about Sadler's job status.

If true, its a shame. The comments may have been in poor taste, or they may even have been in response to someone saying well don't count on mccain. The point is the comments were not said in public, but were in a private meeting. It's no reason for someone to be forced out of a job.

Good point. I read the comments, they are not in good taste but I'm not sure how bad they are. They are not holding McCain up for ridicule or anything like that.

It was an innocent comment made during a legislative strategy session that was leaked out and then blown out of proportion by White House foes.

It was a shame to see some on our side pile on.
