Just can't wait to see the ratings the next few years
The funniest part of this is that the pageant has had a hard enough time getting on TV as it is! They have a year left on their current deal with ABC, but their ratings have been plummeting for years: it's bounced from ABC, to Country Music TV, then TLC, and now back to ABC.
With no swimsuit or evening gown competition, almost all of the visual appeal of the program has been stripped from it. You're left with the talent and the interview questions, a bastardized cross between
Meet the Press and
Star Search. Who's going to want to watch that?!
