The ER or urgent care?
May 30, 2018 by Len Canter, Healthday Reporter

(HealthDay)—Urgent care centers are popping up across the country as an option for medical treatment. But it's important to know the differences between these facilities and your local hospital emergency department.

The ER is for life-threatening situations, yet many people go there when urgent care is more appropriate. According to one study, nearly half of ER patients whose ailment didn't warrant being admitted to the hospital had gone to the ER simply because their doctor's office wasn't open.

I have been in the situation, more than once, where I had to use an Urgent Care facility.
I would call my primary doctor first, for an appointment, sometimes to find out, that he could not see me until the following week.
Urgent care fills that gap without having to go to an Emergency Room.

 My doc is a Cheyenne medicine man... He is around most any time, and his fee, regardless of the hour, is a pound of tobacco. Been stitched up by vets or nurses more than once... You won't find me using western medicine for any purpose except the most dire.
