Former presidential candidate Herman Cain addressed ABC’s cancellation of Roseanne Tuesday following lead actress Roseanne Barr’s tasteless tweet about Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett.

While the former Godfather’s Pizza CEO took issue with Barr’s “despicable” and “racist” tweet, he also questioned the assertion that Barr was a racist herself and ABC’s motives for cancelling the show. (RELATED: ABC Cancels ‘Roseanne’)

“Well, first of all, it was despicable and it did have a racist implication,” Cain told Fox News host Neil Cavuto. “She overstepped her bounds and she didn’t think about what the backlash would be. However, I don’t disagree with all of the criticism that she has gotten. I question whether or not that was the only motivation for cancelling the show.”

Cain admitted that “we will never know” the network’s true motivations, but the fact that ABC “provided 91 percent negative coverage” of President Trump and Barr was a high profile defender could be a factor.

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

  • WE are NOT ok!
I'm not a huge TV viewer, but I have tuned into a couple of episodes of Roseanne.  The show was about as politically correct as they come, with the characters being bi-racial, gay, liberal and conservative.  To me it was refreshing.

Certainly Barr was out of line, but IMHO I believe one of the reasons for cancellation was also due to some of the conservative slant.  It certainly wasn't the ratings.

The MSM does NOT want any conservative slant that may get viewers thinking or believing that there just may be another viewpoint and agree with it.

I'm in the process of writing my letter (not that it's going to do any good) to ABC in protest.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

I've always thought of Roseanne as being disgusting, whether conservative or liberal.  Never watched her show before and certainly not now.

@libertybele  I think the advertisers were adamant about dropping the show after the "ape" tweet.  That would be the kiss of death for any show.

Watched the original version for a couple of years until the star became irritating both on the show and off.  Haven't tuned in to the latest reboot.

I'm starting to  believe a conspiracy theory going around that the reboot was designed to put Trump and his supporters in the most unfavorable light.  The theory goes that Barr's allegedly racist tweet was meant to reinforce the perception that Trump and his supporters are uneducated, lowlife, redneck racists.  Barr certainly is not a conservative and she is not a Trump supporter.  The show wasn't supposed to last that long anyway -- just make its point about Trump and his fans -- then move on.  Roseanne probably didn't want the show to go on anyway, which may be why she decided to blow it up with her tweet.

Don't know if I really believe everything in that theory, but these days, I feel like we are all living in a very bad reality tv show where nothing is as it seems and everything is an act.  And it's frustrating to me that it's difficult to not be sucked into this reality show on a daily basis.  I keep trying to avoid it, but then I'm afraid I might miss something that could adversely affect me personally.  Wish I could live off the grid.
