TILDEN – The absence of a front license plate has resulted in four men being sent back to Mexico.

According to Investigator Scott Garris of the McMullen County Sheriff’s Office, sheriff’s Deputy Robert Gonzales was conducting patrols as part of the Border Star program near the intersection of state Highway 16 and Farm-to-Market Road 624 April 30. At 5:49 p.m., Gonzales reported seeing a dark-colored Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck traveling north. The truck had no front license plate.
