According to the mainstream media narrative over the past few months, Democratic enthusiasm should propel the party to a sweep of the November midterm elections. But the Ohio primary results indicate that Republicans may be the more motivated party ahead of the midterm elections.In the governor primary, Democrat Richard Cordray and Republican Mike DeWine will represent their parties in the general election. But Republicans showed up to the election in stronger numbers than Democrats.According to The New York Times’s account, 827,039 Republicans cast ballots for governor versus 679,738 Democrats.And despite getting a lower percentage of the vote in his respective primary, DeWine still beat Cordray on raw vote totals. Over 490,000 Republicans chose DeWine, with 420,000 Democrats voting for Cordray.
But the Ohio primary results indicate that Republicans may be the more motivated party ahead of the midterm elections.
