And why would he do that?  Possibly, because he knew they were already dead?  Or maybe because, if found, they would bear witness to the torture and human rights violations.  Either way, he's a traitor in MY book of logic.
It's not true.

Did McCain not know he was dying soon?  Or does he think he can take the money and power with him?  Try again.

@Once-Ler
Cut an paste postings.  now thats pathetic

We're all dying and we will all answer for our decisions.   Perhaps thats why he's fighting so hard now.

His love of power and money exceeded his love of country.

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

You know you're only reminding me how much torture a man can take?

It's not true.

Really?   Do you have proof that it's not true then?  Cause it fits right in with what "else" I know about him.

So if a soldier (or an officer) gives in to torture and betrays his country....

how, exactly, can he be deemed a "hero"?

He risked his life to defend our country.  He refused to leave his fellow Prisoners of War.  Not as easy to defend as bone spurs but I'll try to keep up.

No.... but from everything I know about him, it's highly credible.

EVERY solider risks their life to defend this country.  He didn't leave cause he was too busy making those tapes!  I'm sure it made him feel very .... relevant.  You know... how he probably felt every time he reached across the aisle and helped his DemocRat friends pass yet more anti-America/anti-American legislation.

When I went to survival school we were told anyone can break.  Certainly there are limits but IMO his service up to his discharge was typical for a rich powerful guys son.   Many others served more honorably and many less.

It's what he's done since that make me consider him a sellout to his country.  He's a globalist and cares more about Brussels then America.

I'm not willing to pass judgement on anyone being subjected to torture in a POW camp.  I know what Denton did, and it was highly commendable.  However, Denton also got an opportunity that others did not.

For McCain, I did not endure what he did, nor was I faced with the same decisions he was faced with.  However, there is a degree of humility that goes along with being a hero.  One of my favorite John F. Kennedy clips shows him being asked by some reporter, "How does it feel to be a hero?"  JFK responded, "I don't think of myself as a hero.  I got my boat sunk."

I never saw humility from McCain.  McCain kept his mouth shut smiling as others hoisted him atop the hero pedestal to serve their political purposes.  But I do know this with absolute certainty about McCain - he is a collaborator.  He has worked hand in hand with the Democrats for almost two decades.  McCain offered himself as the face of the victim card the Gore campaign used against Bush in 2000.  And he used that same victim card to win the nomination in 2008, only to throw the election away to the guy he probably voted for.

I appreciate his service.  I honor his sacrifice to his country.  But that does not excuse his collaboration with the worst enemy this country has ever faced in its 231 year history - the Democrat Party.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

You know it yet offer nothing to support it.

McCain also envisioned an America with a larger military, restored international relations that end stalemates over nuclear weapons with North Korea and Iran, and membership in a new "League of Democracies" working to ease strife in Darfur.

Domestically, McCain said, he would reduce corporate and capital gains taxes, reform the tax code, end budgetary earmarks, retrain laid-off workers, and make healthcare more accessible and more affordable.

hand in hand? naww bro.

McCain offered the same lame change Trump uses to solidify his "conservative" credentials.  Taxcuts and military spending.  Nothing wrong with that stuff, but I expected more.

Are you kidding?  Obama sounded like the second coming of Reagan compared to McCain.  I had to point out to my single-key-issue neighbor that McCain's stance on same-sex marriage was actually to the left of Obama's.

In 2000, he led the Democrat propaganda machine against the Bush campaign, accusing him of racism in the South Carolina primary.  In 2008, McCain was the Democrat's consensus opponent for the Presidential race.  Heck, even Mitt Romney was to the right of McCain.

And then we have 2017.  After seven years of Republican promises to overturn Obamacare, it is saved by John McCain.

Whether sympathy, idealism, or outright blackmail, John McCain has been working behind the scenes to sabotage Conservatism for well over a decade.  If he had only fought against candidate Obama as hard as he has battled Donald Trump.

I disagree, but I don't care to argue this point nor do I think it is necessary, or worth the effort.

OK GOP primary voters collaborated with the rats in your opinion.  My apologies for voting against Obama.

uh huh.  One guy stopped Trump and the GOP majority.

I've grown tired of defending McCain.  You wanna blame him for Obama, gays, and GOP failure.  whatever.

It isn't an all or nothing proposition. Many hands were involved in making the GOP what it has become. McCain was one the primary movers involved is the point.

So, what was likely the last call McCain got from a President was one thanking him for putting a shank in his party's ass.  How appropriate.

Any credit McCain was due for his service to this country was paid off in full the day he decided to throw in with those who want to enslave us. The same way goes for John Glenn, Robert Mueller, etc

If that sounds melodramatic, tough.
