Freedom Caucus says goodbye to conservatives and hello to Trumpservatives

by David Leach • May 4, 2018

For quite some time now, it’s been clear that the Republican party has been the party of RINOs, or if you prefer, Republicrats. Lacking any semblance of conservative convictions and concerned only about keeping their jobs, the GOP has completely abandoned their principles, exchanging them for political power.

While in years past this betrayal was concealed beneath the conservative costume they wore like a kid dressed for trick or treat, the election of Donald Trump provided the avenue for Republicans to throw away their conservative disguise and don the attire of nationalism and populism.

However, fully aware of the reality that conservatives are still a vital voting bloc, the newly formed Trumplican Party has worked with Donald Trump to destroy any remnant of conservatism still present in Washington. And unfortunately, it’s working.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

The chosen leader of the GOP is Trump.

There are no two ways about it.

Either you are on board the Trump GOP train or you're not. If you're going to be a member of the GOP you have to accept that fact. Cruz has. I choose not to be a member of it anymore. I've had my fill of being lied to for 38 years.

Quote
“nationalism and populism have overtaken conservatism in terms of appeal.”

And I want no more to do with that or the Trumplican party than I do the Marxist Democrats.

To me, it is just a repeat of the last days of Weimar.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

The comments following the article are also interesting.
Micah 6:8  "...what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

Yes they are interesting. They make me feel a little less like I'm nearly alone in the political wilderness... It seems very unlikely I'll be a member of any political party again. Washington D.C. is totally corrupt.

The problem with Trumpanomics, Trumpicanism, or whatever is that it is a one off. After Trump leaves the stage, there are no other Trumps. This is bad news for the Trumpsters who think they've found the permanent key to success in beating liberals with His Orangeness's style and swagger.
What will most likely happen is that many of the up and coming new populist pols who think they can replicate Trump's success is that they will most likely fall on their faces. Because, like Trump, they have no core conservative principles. And if they try to imitate Trump, they will just sound like pathetic losers...which most of they certainly are.
Trump has billions of dollars and was able to use that and his tv/huckster personality to sway millions.  He was canny enough to realize the importance of the illegal immigration problem, and he jumped on it.
Having a clueless, humorless liberal shrew like Hillary Clinton for an opponent didn't hurt either.
But after he finally leaves the scene, there is no one similar to take his place.
Hopefully, we get back to days of trying to elect a principled conservative who is not an arrogant, egotistical, amoral buffoon.  And who knows enough to not tweet his every waking ridiculous thought.
If there is still a Republican Party after he is gone.

Oh brother.

Did US marxists, communists and leftwing anarchists incessantly bitch when Clinton was elected?

No they didn't. Because even though he wasn't card carrying marxist they knew they could move farther along the road towards their version of Utopia with him in office than with Bush & Dole.

WHY is this so hard for some to grasp?

Another version of "true conservatives" as victims, which seems to be their main (and perhaps only) plot.

Once in a while they get their sh!te together for a short time, and do something meaningful like Reagan and the Tea Party movement, only to crash back to earth and get sent back to the victim ward.

Universities are offering a major, in "True Conservatives," with the following curriculum:

--blaming other Republicans
--blaming the media
--blaming voters
--blaming anything,
--blaming anybody but themselves

Guest lecturers will include Little Billy Kristol, Jeb Bush, and Glenn Beck.

Nothing new will be covered, but bring your trusty olde pens and ink  nonetheless.

A round of forums will be kicked off, by Mitt Rominey from his Park City Utah Hq.

Not quite so wise.  The GOP will be there long after Trump has moved on to his dotage and porn stars.
