I must have taken a wrong turn at Albequerque

I don't know why McCain regrets picking Palin.
It was the smartest move he made during that campaign, one fraught with some other bad decisions.
Her star has been tarnished a bit since, but in 2008, she was the best option, I thought.

Agree.

The only reason I worked to get McCain elected was because of Palin, and that was true of a lot of us.

I don't know if she was hiding who she really was, or if she's radically changed, but I liked her at first, and I think she's pretty much wacko now.
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

He was responding to what I had said to you on Reply #88, so responding to my comments would be one way.  And, I'm not being sarcastic either.  I just find it hard to come to any mutual understanding when there is no mutual.
I agree Sanguine.  The facts we both know would not earn respect from members of a forum like this one.  I believe it should, but I also believe it would be pointless to count out how many times McCain voted for taxcuts, more military spending, gun rights, abortion restrictions, and even immigration restrictions, because I fear the facts carry no weight over the anger you hold for McCain, and the response would be predictably a few times McCain bucked his own party.  I understand your argument yet I find it illogical, and that is not too say that many people don't hold the same view.  They clearly do.  So I am uncertain on the worth of explaining my own opinion with further facts confronted with your reply and chose to ignore it.  I left my comments to stand on their own.

@Victoria33   Hey, this may be a violation of some kind of Etiquette ... I'm sure Mystery or someone will tell me if it is.

Victoria sent me a personal message defending McCain and saying that it is a sin to criticize him at the end of his life .... but then she blocked my reply so I will post it here.

As far as I'm concerned.... anyone that likes Obama is an enemy of and/or threat to America by virtue of their:

A) stupidity,
B) apparent anti-Americanism,
C) clueless state of being,
D) all of the above

And IMHO....McCain has fit all the criteria for quite some time now.

Your enemy is well over 50% of America.  Good luck soldier.

Not quite... more like about 33%, if you get right down to the factual reality.  The rest are just clueless, "useful idiots".  Still dangerous and a threat, however, due to the fact that they vote.

We all know his voting record and personal disdain for the POTUS.

OK, decent answer.  Obviously I disagree, but my disagreement is based on his voting record.  A few good votes don't make up for a larger number of bad ones.

The world doesn't end if we disagree.

I liked Palin, but not enough to vote for McCain.  I think she has been through a lot with her family and added to that stress was the  stress that she received from all the derogatory comments from the MSM about her and her family.  Stressful events within one's family can sure change a person; especially if they're made public.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

"Victoria sent me a personal message defending McCain..."

You wrote a post to me and I answered it with a PM since I was not going to post on the thread again.    That is why I sent you the PM.  As I told you in the PM, I was not defending McCain.  I said he is a child of God dying with brain cancer, and reviewing his life as he wishes.  I do think it is a sin to speak of his coming death in terms as some have on this thread.  God will make that decision.  Now, I am off the thread no matter if someone posts to me and I won't answer anyone with a PM unless I know he/she is a friend.  Evidently you are not since you tried to twist the PM into an argument.

I don't think anyone here has the divine power to determine what is a sin and what isn't.

One thing that is disapproved here is sharing personal pm's without the other's permission to post them on the forum.

You are entitled to that opinion.

Considering that Obama got elected despite Obama's background and upbringing.... (Communist white side of the family, Muslim (and Marxist) black side of the family)....

I'd posit that it's more than just an opinion....

since an awful lot of "clueless" people voted for him.

Um.... if continuing to criticize him as I have for the past decade, despite him being on his deathbed, makes me an "egotistical jerk" in your view... I'll take that hit.  And then some.
