Accused Parkland shooter assigned to program meant to limit on-campus arrests: report

Broward school district officials said on Sunday that the former student accused of carrying out a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February, Nikolas Cruz, was assigned to a controversial disciplinary program designed to limit on-campus arrests, according to reporting by WJCT News.

The revelation contradicts repeated claims by the school district’s superintendent, Robert Runcie, that the shooter had “no connection” to the so-called PROMISE Program.

Cruz was assigned to three days in the program after vandalizing a middle school bathroom in 2013, two sources familiar with Cruz’s record told WJCT.

It is unclear if Cruz actually attended the program, which is meant to keep students who commit certain misdemeanors from getting involved in the criminal justice system.

This came out, weeks ago. Our liberal moving country is so enamored of diversity, leniency, these programs and policies essentially overlook dangerous behavior.

We had a police shooting last year. A 27 year old discharged vet, did drugs and lived homeless.

He tried to attack an officer, who first tazed him to no effect. He shot and killed the guy. The local outcry in favor of this poor child (age 27) was amazing, and was based on a censored video showing the shooting, but ommitting the assault and tazing attempt.

Months later, it was proved the perp brutally murdered an elderly man that had befriended and tried to help him, just days before.

The tug on heartstrings, by bleeding hearts is amazing. All emotion, little fact or common sense.

*Crime solved by DNA on the murderer's clothes, from the dead elderly man.

No where in article did it state this program was initiated by Obama. 

Also, what conceivable rationale exists to delay releasing this report for another month?  Appears a CYA for Broward Co. Sheriff, once again.

This is the same BS program that kept Trayvon Martin from going to jail... which might have saved his life, had he been held accountable for his delinquent behavior.   Nevertheless, Holder and Obama have the blood of those slain Parkland kids on their hands.... along with the blood from the other crimes they committed against Americans (Benghazi, Iran nuke deal, etc.) during that eight years of hell.

Liberals have been on a jihad to stop what they call the "school house to the jail house" pipeline for years.  The fact that this little degenerate got a pass for his early transgressions is SOP for this program that is totally FUBAR.

Yeah, he was in the "Look the other way for minorities" program they had going in Miami-Dade.  That's why he had so many infractions in school yet no ramifications.  Broward looked at it and said "What a great idea!"
