Reuters Poll: Black Male Approval For Trump Doubles In One Week

Black male support for President Donald Trump doubled in just one week, according to a Reuters poll on presidential approval.

A poll taken on April 22, 2018 had Trumpâ€™s approval rating among black men at 11 percent, while the same poll on April 29, 2018 pegged the approval rating at 22 percent. It should be noted that Reuters only sampled slightly under 200 black males each week and slightly under 3,000 people overall.

Trump experienced a similar jump in approval among black people overall, spiking from 8.9 percent on April 22 to 16.5 percent on April 29.

Black males were also far more likely to say that they had â€œmixed feelingsâ€ about the president. On the 22nd, 1.5 percent said they had mixed feelings, while 7.1 percent said the same on the 29th.

The results are interesting given the recent transformation of Kanye West, who posted a picture of himself wearing a Make America Great Again hat on his Twitter account last week.

Humbly speaking, I think African-Americans have come to accept "flawed individuals" as leaders, it be MLK, Obama, Jesse Jackson, even JFK for that matter, I think there is something to learn from that.

If my math is right, at 95% confidence, that's a margin of error of 7%. Therefore Trump's approval went from 4-18% to 15-29%. So, likely up, but maybe down.

Credit to Trump where credit is due. GOP has been chasing black support since I've been alive, maybe longer. If Trump manages to do it, then that's a remarkable achievement. Democrats have no constituency without black support, despite 50 plus years of no real improvement in their living standards.

The Web overall, is opening up channels for rapid, unfiltered exchange of information. Kanye is going directly to his customers.

Maxine might influence some, but some others will realize and like what he is saying.

My Intellectual Dark Web sources, see this as a big potential impact. Nobody expects Half of black voters to switch to Trump. But a 20 percent swing would mean votes measured in the millions.
