The Senate will delay the confirmation hearing for secretary of Veterans Affairs nominee Dr. Ronny Jackson amid reported allegations of misconduct.
Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), the ranking Democrat on the Senate Veterans Affairs committee, asked to have the hearing postponed due to multiple claims of a “hostile work environment,†according to CBS News.
The allegations also include “excessive drinking on the job,†and “improperly dispensing meds.â€
Tester’s office first heard the allegations over the weekend.
As a result, Senate lawmakers have postponed the confirmation hearing, The Washington Post reported.
The development comes just two days before Jackson was expected to testify before the committee.
