At least three people were wounded in the incident at a Home Depot, according to Breaking 911. The third victim is believed to be a security guard. Police called the crime a “major incident.” The gunman is believed to have fled into the woods.

Sources say Dallas Police officers were helping an off duty officer working security arrest a suspect when they were shot.

According to CBS, a source close to the investigation said the male police officer was shot in the back of the head. The female officer was shot in the face. Police said the suspect was a Hispanic male.

Dallas County Passes Resolution Supporting Undocumented Residents

Yesterday, four of the county’s commissioners and Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins approved a resolution declaring Dallas County a “Welcoming Community.” The resolution, while nonbinding, affirms the county’s stance that undocumented residents are “integral members of our community” and calls on local law enforcement agencies to “end nonessential collaborations with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”

As things stand, Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez, whose office is the primary law enforcement agency that reports to the commissioner’s court, already adopted this policy in 2015. If used, the county could turn down detainer requests from ICE for people picked up and otherwise set to be released for violent crimes.

   I'm not sure whether he's illegal or not, but I thought the blurb about Dallas City Council/Sheriffs Office coddling these folks was relevant.  Dallas Cops have certainly shouldered a hell of a burden in the last couple of years.

I think that's true for most police departments.  Between interference from politicians, lousy judicial rulings, idiotic department procedures and so many people who think it's cool to take out a police officer, these men and women have a damm tough job.  Law enforcement always was a dangerous profession, but in the last few years, it has become a helluva lot worse.

It sounds like the security officer was trying to apprehend someone, maybe had them under arrest or needed the police there to make the address and some how, this Armando fellow shoot the officers. Was Armando Juarez trying to free a person who was being put under arrest? 

All 3 who were shot are out of surgery per the ABC story,  I don't even think the story mentions that someone died.

My best friend lives in the Dallas area (Wylie)...he said they were trying to keep one of the officers alive until family could arrive at the hospital.

He also said local news is reporting both officers were rookies.
