An archaeological dig in northern Tasmania is revealing more stories about the state's convict past.
Archaeologists and historians are discovering more about the lives and living conditions of convicts who worked at the Kerry Lodge convict site, just outside Launceston.
About 40 convicts worked to quarry stone at the site for the nearby Kerry Lodge bridge that was built in 1835.
Convicts there also helped build the original Midland Highway.
