Also, Trump probably thought the Russians were earnestly fighting ISIS, that's a lot of people's impressions and many people say that is a false impression.  He probably thought he could actually work with them to fight terrorism.

Exactly......who to believe.  I’m not a ‘false flag’ person, but that report, based on sourcing, can’t rule it out.  Large amounts of chlorine can be obtained from water treatment plants.  Sarin isn’t difficult to make.  The members of Aum made a crude, but lethal batch for their 1995 attacking the Tokyo subway and very little is required to kill someone.  Two important things:  What criteria will now constitute use of chemical weapons and how will we verify future attacks?  What if the Syrians used large amounts of CS gas to disperse groups or incapacitate rebels?  Technically, the bar could be lowered to make any explosives classify as ‘chemical’ munitions.

I'm not going to get into insulting dishonest arguments, one could easily say "Anyone with half a brain can see things have changed in Trump's perception of the situation", that Assad is gassing people, that Russia/the regime haven't been fighting ISIS that much. This same discussion has happened in this forum. If one feels the need to insult, you aren't winning your discussion and I would hope it can be discussion and not argument.
