Riyadh, Rajab 28, 1439, Apr 14, 2018, SPA -- An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's full support of U.S., Britain, France's military operations on military targets in Syria.
The source added that these military strikes came as a response to the Syrian regime's use of chemical weapons against innocent civilians, including women and children. The use of such internationally prohibited weapons is a continuation of the horrid crimes the regime has been committing for years against the Syrian people.
The source said the regime bears responsibility for these military operations in light of the international community's failure to take strict measures against the Syrian regime.

Russian Military: More Than 100 Missiles Fired into Syria

Brig. Gen. Ali Mayhoub said the attacks “will not deter” the Syrian military from eradicating “armed terrorists.”

The United States, United Kingdom and France fired over 100 missiles into Syria, RIA Novosti news agency reported, adding that a significant number of the missiles where intercepted.


“More than 100 cruise missiles and air-to-land missiles were fired by the US, Britain and France from the sea and air at Syrian military and civilian targets,” the Russian defense ministry told RIA Novosti.

Russian officials from President Vladimir Putin on down condemned the strike as an act of aggression against a sovereign state carried out on the pretext of staged chemical attack. Mattis says no US losses in Syria strikes

WASHINGTON (AP) —Defense Secretary James Mattis says the U.S. has no reports of suffering any losses during the initial airstrikes on Syria Friday.

Mattis says "right now this is a one-time shot" but is not ruling out further attacks. President Donald Trump had said earlier that the campaign against the regime of Bashar Assad could be "sustained."

Mattis, Dunford Detail Attacks on Syrian Chemical Arsenal

U.S., British and French air and naval forces launched attacks against the Syrian government’s chemical weapon arsenal in retaliation for the use of such weapons on civilians, Defense Secretary James N. Mattis and Marine Corps Gen. Joe Dunford, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said at a Pentagon news conference tonight.


“As the world knows, the Syrian people have suffered terribly under the prolonged brutality of the Assad regime,” the secretary said. “On April 7, the regime decided to again defy the norms of civilized people showing callous disregard for international law by using chemical weapons to murder women, children and other innocents. We and our allies find these atrocities inexcusable.”
