Cruz for Senate
« on: April 03, 2018, 12:32:55 am »
I went to a Cruz meeting this afternoon where he kicked off his campaign for another term in the Senate.  This took part on a family farm, bordered by wheat fields and tractors.

A couple of point, in case any of our Texas TBRers are interested:

1. Great speech.  Very passionate and well expressed. He had the crowd on their feet several times.
2. Very well organized event and on time.
3. He pointed out that the dems are angry and hate the president and will be turning out in record numbers this fall.
4. He knew people in the audience and had detailed stories on a number of them as "everyday heroes".  It was a particularly effective part of his speech.
5. Stayed around and shook hands, including mine.  Calm, unflappable and attentive.

I got a mailer from his campaign. The letter talked about the "resistance" or something and the opposition trying to turn Texas blue.  Some things, we talk about here.

Yes, and it's very important to not let Texas go blue.

Am all for Ted.

I attended a similar venue over a neighbor's house in Bellaire the first time he ran.

He had his family with him, and the kids were running around.
No punishment, in my opinion, is too great, for the man who can build his greatness upon his country's ruin~  George Washington

Fact is, Cruz is about as conservative as they come, despite what some here, and the TOS say.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

He did his official announcement in Stafford, not far from me, at the Redneck Country Club.
I didn't go.
I stayed home and watched the Astros instead.
He had his Super Tuesday rally at the same place.
Ted Cruz is the only politician I've actually sent a campaign donation to.
