In the closing arguments into the trial of Noor Salman, the widow of the Pulse night club terrorist Omar Mateen, prosecutors alleged that the killer had another target in mind. Mateen, who killed 49 people in his rampage in the Orlando night club in June 2016 before being shot and killed by police, had first intended to open fire on tourists in Disney World's shopping and entertainment complex.

Mateen had planned to hide a gun in a stroller, but was "spooked" by police, according to the prosecutors. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sara Sweeney showed the jurors a video of Mateen walking through the Disney complex and glancing at police officers behind him.

We've been had and this should be a bigger story.  For the left, no, it was not a case of homophobia, but it was a case where armed people prevented deaths which is particularly relevant in the current discussion of "gun control".

I heard he wanted to attack at Downtown Disney not Disney World..he could have never gotten a weapon into Disney World....Downtown Disney is a madhouse packed with families all the time...The Pulse was bad enough, can't imagine the carnage at Downtown Disney

I happen to know someone who got a weapon in to Disney World, on multiple occassions.  :whistle:

That friend I know that managed it started carrying in the park after seeing a woman (?) in full black burka.  The friend figured if she could make it into the park dressed normally and carrying there was no telling what someone in a burka could make it in with.

I've heard now, that Omar Mateen's wife was found not quilty of having to do with this.
Also, that Omar Mateen's father may have been an FBI informant.
When Omar Mateen's name was first brought up as a terror threat, before the Pulse nightclub shooting, the theory is they FBI didn't pursue it to protect the father as an asset.
They looked the other way.
That all came our during the wife's trial.
