Trump thanks Obama for leaving so many judicial vacancies
By Morgan Gstalter - 03/29/18 03:29 PM EDT

President Trump mockingly thanked his predecessor former President Obama for leaving so many judicial posts vacant despite a Republican-controlled Senate slowing down confirmations during the last two years of the Obama administration.

“When I got in, we had over 100 federal judges that weren’t appointed,” Trump said during a speech in Ohio on Thursday. “I don’t know why Obama left that. It was like a big, beautiful present to all of us. Why the hell did he leave that?"

"Maybe he got complacent," Trump added.

I wonder how many of the 100 have now been filled?  The article doesn't say.

Trump finally learned that there were judicial vacancies.  It would have been nice to have had these filled a year ago.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

No kidding. He got a supreme court appointment and many federal judicial vacancies, because McConnell blocked the way, leading up to 2016.  You can believe he would be burning in effigy, had the election turned out differently.

He mentioned this in his meandering infrastructure speech.  On of the things he also mentioned was we would be out of Syria very soon.  That's interesting, since US policy was maintaining an indefinite presence there to prevent ISIS type groups from re-emerging.  This was policy 'way back' in January.  He starts talking about Syria around the 37:00 mark and judicial appointments around the 40:00 point.

Maybe Pre-Trump R's... and Conservatives, should get a call out from the Trump brigade .... mayhap, on the wild occasion, they alone think they elected the Orange One.

This speech was more like a campaign stop. The actual amount of time he spends talking about infrastructure planning is probably about 10–12 minutes. The rest of it is discussions about a host of unrelated things.  He mentioned Ivanka was there and working on the infrastructure plan.  I’m sure that’s comforting.   In more than one place during the speech, he talks about how he’s a builder and always has been. Recently, some deposition footage was released, regarding a dispute at the DC hotel. Under direct questioning, listen to how uninvolved admits he actually is in day-to-day operations.   It’s boring as hell to listen to, but he talks about delegating just about everything but always takes credit for the completed project.  He’s a complete fraud.
