President Trump pushed back on the idea of repealing the Second Amendment on Wednesday, arguing that it’s one of the key reasons conservatives must retain control of the Supreme Court.

“THE SECOND AMENDMENT WILL NEVER BE REPEALED! As much as Democrats would like to see this happen, and despite the words yesterday of former Supreme Court Justice Stevens, NO WAY. We need more Republicans in 2018 and must ALWAYS hold the Supreme Court!” Mr. Trumptweeted.

The former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens said Tuesday that student protesters should argue for the repeal of the Second Amendment. He wrote in a New York Times op-ed that the law was a “relic” of another time when the concern was standing armies.

I guess nobody on Fox & Friends mentioned Stevens was nominated to the Court of Appeals by Nixon and the Supreme Court by Ford.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

Trump is right that the 2A won't be repealed,  but the Heller decision could very well be overturned by a SCOTUS packed by a Dem President.   Justice Stevens is the author of the dissenting opinion in Heller,  and took the position that the 2A was merely intended to support a militia, not an individual RKBA.

The 2A isn't in peril, but the Heller decision is.  The individual RKBA relies on a fragile SCOTUS majority, and just as conservatives demand Roe v. Wade be overturned, so do liberals demand that Heller be overturned.   Think about that reality when you decide to indulge your vanity and stay home rather than vote for a Republican.
