If NeverTrump was a class full of adolescent boys, none of them could go up to the front of the class to work on the blackboard right now, if you know what I mean.

Since this is a family publication (more or less), I will leave it to our sharp-witted American Greatness readers to figure out why.

NeverTrumpers have a juvenile—if not downright creepy—obsession with Stormy Daniels (real name: Stephanie Clifford), the “adult film” “actress” who claims she had a one-night fling with Donald Trump in 2006. Since news surfaced in January that Trump’s lawyer allegedly paid Daniels $130,000 in hush money to keep their sexual encounter a secret, voyeuristic NeverTrumpers such as Jonah Goldberg and Bill Kristol have been fixated on her. If I were Mrs. NeverTrump, I might want to check around the computer for used tissues and old tube socks. I mean, I understand these nerds didn’t get to hook up with the homecoming queen in high school, but sheesh: Give it a rest already.

This is a word for word article from 1996 replacing Monica Lewensky with Stormy Daniels, Clinton with Trump, and Republicans with Never Trumpers.

This has all happened before.. it will all happen again.

The only "creepy infatuation" is the one practiced by Trump-worshiping cultists who employ the "NeverTrump" smear against even those who have supported their golden idol while daring to question any of his words or actions, ever.

Most of us couldn't care less about his affair with a porn star. Unlike Clinton, he didn't rape her. But it doesn't excuse his philandering, either.

No, not really, but leave it to a site calling itself "American Greatness" to sexualize opposition to this non-story. (And for the record, between her and Karen McDougal, I'd much prefer the latter. Daniels is way over the top.)

Sometimes it is just about tearing down idols.

The higher up people put Big Federal Government Brother on a pedestal, the more that idol needs to be torn down.

If people didn't idolize him and become an apologist for everything he did, it wouldn't matter.

Think of it as a pendulum. The more it swings toward worship, the more it will swing the other way in reaction.
