Five takeaways from Stormy Daniels’s big interview
By Niall Stanage - 03/25/18 08:45 PM EDT

The controversy over President Trump’s alleged affair with Stormy Daniels reached new heights on Sunday evening when CBS’s “60 Minutes” aired an interview with the adult-film star.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, detailed the sexual liaison she says she had with Trump in 2006.

The White House has said that Daniels and other women who have made allegations about Trump’s behavior — allegations that range from consensual extramarital sex to sexual assault — are lying.

What were the main takeaways from the Daniels interview?

The second part of the “60 Minutes” report focused mostly on the nondisclosure agreement that Cohen, Trump’s personal attorney, brokered with Daniels in the final days of the 2016 election campaign.

As part of that deal, Daniels was paid $130,000. Cohen has said he paid the money out of his personal funds. There are questions over whether that payment represented an illegal campaign contribution.

Cohen did not consent to an interview with “60 Minutes” but the media will be sure to keep picking at that thread too, further increasing the chances of the story remaining alive.

This is the important part.  Cohen has a lot of explaining to do.  The correspondence to the Trump Tower office, with all of the titles, demonstrating his position in the Trump Organization also makes it difficult for him to say he was acting on his own.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

I believe that's why he kept saying he was never repaid by Trump or the Campaign, had to take out an equity loan on his house.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

If only the media were as interested in Paula Jones as they are in Stephanie Clifford AKA: Stormy Daniels, some credibility might hang in the air.... but alas... moral indiscretions and criminality are only mulliganned if you are a Leftist media darling.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

@INVAR, Paula Jones got huge media coverage from major outlets including Larry King Live.  They went how many rounds in the courts?  Her lawyers quit because she wouldn't accept the settlement?  This was 20 years ago?

1) Trump's supporters have already decided to give him a mulligan; 2) the only reason Stormy Daniels and the other woman are in the news now, is because Trump keeps lying about them.  He is creating the problem.

Billy Jeff's sexcapades were either routinely ignored and pooh-poohed in the media, or the accusers being publicly assassinated in the media.  The Bimbo Eruption squads put a quick media end to Kathleen Willey and Juanita Broaddrick among scores of others.  It was Limbaugh, National Review and a few other publications that kept the stories alive among Republicans.

There was not wall-to-wall CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC 'gotcha! coverage giving those women and their accusations the limelight like Daniels is getting over Trump.

1) Trump's supporters have already decided to give him a mulligan; 2) the only reason Stormy Daniels and the other woman are in the news now, is because Trump keeps lying about them.  He is creating the problem.

You mean like "I did not have sex with that woman, Ms Lewisnky?" That kind of lying that creates the problem?

Saw this quote that even I find hard to believe...

"Daniels said she asked Trump to take his pants down so she could spank him with a magazine with his face on the cover - and that he did so."

He's way to vain for that...

Nah, I think her asking him to take his pants down fed into his ego. The guy disgusts me. He has no morality and he has cheated on  all of his wives.  She's a porn star and he's a sleaze bag.  What's there not to believe?
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Exactly!  I think he assumed that once his pants were off it would be much more likely that he'd have sex with the porn star.  At that point, I suspect he was singularly focused on getting her to bed.
